What Smart Dealerships are doing to Ease the Health Concerns of Used Car Buyers.

Car sales plummeted during the early pandemic months, and so did automobile production. Weeks of plant closures have now left dealers with much smaller inventory as buyers return to showrooms. However, statistics reveal that the used car lot remains remarkably hot. J.D. Power’s reports that used vehicle activity has steadily improved over the course of May as prices grew by an impressive 14 percentage points. Cox Automotive said that while new-vehicle sales at the end of May were down 28 percent, used car sales continued to go up.

However, consumers’ thoughts about used cars have changed drastically. Car owners have added “health safety” to their list of what is important. There will always be that thought running through a consumer’s mind of, “How was the health of that person who owned and drove this car before me?”

Many dealerships are now reaching out to customers describing the steps they are taking to clean used cars. For example, Toyota is promoting health safety as their number one priority across their 1,500 dealerships throughout the country. Many other industry makers are following suit with their health-conscious messages as well. While it is important to share with consumers how dealerships are sanitizing the air inside their vehicles, smart dealers also understand they need to address how they are sanitizing the interior surfaces of used cars.

To give their customers the peace of mind that their vehicle has been disinfected and cleaned with the safest and most advanced solutions in the industry, dealers are flocking to NuVinAir Global’s newest product—ReKlenz-X.  This EPA-approved, eco-friendly disinfectant kills 99.9% of germs, bacteria, and viruses without compromising a vehicle’s interior. The Dallas-based company, which offers a “Total Health” suite of proprietary vehicle-cleanliness solutions and hygienic consulting for automotive business, says ReKlenz-X is an oxygen-rich formula that quickly kills bacteria and viruses by destroying their cell walls through a process called oxidation. The product contains no harsh chemicals, sticky residue, or dangerous volatile organic compounds, resulting in a clean and disinfected vehicle with no chemical smell.

Troy Blackwell, Chief Operating Office for NuVinAir Global, says ReKlenz-X is truly a significant change. “Until now, any possible solution for killing the coronavirus was wrought with harmful chemicals, expensive equipment, and residue-leaving application devices that destroy the vehicle’s interior. As a disinfectant and sanitizer, it can be applied to all interior vehicle surfaces using a microfiber towel,” he said. Blackwell added that when paired with NuVinAir’s premier detailing solution, ReNuSurface, and their patented Cyclone treatment, it takes deep cleaning to a new level for NuVinAir’s automotive partners and their customers.
